A foodie’s paradise at the Perth Food and Wine Expo 2016
Perth is a city full of self-confessed foodies, and we are lucky to have so many festivals dedicated to one of our favourite pastimes – eating. The Food and Wine Expo 2016 will bring you over 150 exhibitors and free samples of some of Perth’s best culinary delights. Running from Friday, 14th October to Sunday, 16th October at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre, the expo is your opportunity to taste intriguing or exotic flavours, gain new culinary skills or learn which wine goes best with meat or fish. Just a few of the names offering their products on the day include Catalano’s, Andy’s Bratwurst Hut, Pana Chocolate and Smelly Cheese Shop. There will be interactive cooking demonstrations on the Celebrity Main Stage as celebrity chefs from Masterchef and My Kitchen Rules show off their skills. 2012 Masterchef contestant Ben Milbourne and current host of Channel 10 TV show ‘Ben’s Menu,’ will be cooking up a six-course degustation menu in the Dining Room, and seats are limited. The Appreciation Area is the ultimate destination for foodies wishing to expand their tastes and sample fine food and wine. Visitors can take part in free classes dedicated to appreciating wine, cheese and beer.
Tickets start from $25, plus fees for adults and kids 14 years and over, while a three-day pass starts from $60. Children under 14 are free to enter with a paying adult. The celebrity dinner will set you back $95 plus fees each night, whereas the budget-conscious can enter on Friday after 5pm for the discounted price of $10 (plus fees.) You can buy tickets here.
The Perth Food and Wine Expo is a foodie’s paradise. Don’t miss your opportunity to mix it with celebrity chefs and get your taste buds around some truly fine grub.
